Cosmic Resonance

Cosmic Resonance is my interpretation of a journey through space and time charactarized through the tuba. The fast and energetic opening section sets the theme of a wary traveler making their way through space as they encounter surprises and sights they never thought imaginable. In the middle section of the piece, the journey slows down as the traveler rests to introspectively take in the magnificent surroundings and reflect on themself. This is cut short with the excitement ramping up once again for a technical and virtuosic ending featuring high speeds, intensity, and volume!

I wrote this for my good friend and colleague, Michael Kirby, who gave a fantastic debut performance of the piece at my undergraduate senior recital on April 18th, 2025.
